I guess it's true what they say...sometimes the toughest times are what draw people together. I was able to see my extended family more this summer than any other year. I was able to spend the week before my grandma passed away with my cousin Amy from Minnesota. Then before we knew it, we were all flying back out to California for the actual funeral. Everyone was together. We haven't all been able to spend time together like that since Shawn's wedding in September 2005, but that even left out my Uncle Phil.

Then unexpectedly, we were all back out in California for my aunts funeral in August. It was very unexpected, but I'm glad most of us were able to make it out there in support of my uncle Jimmy, and cousins Scott and Jennifer.

Our family has changed a lot, but I know we will always be there for each other through good times and through bad!

We all had a great time out at the local pub in Seal Beach the night before my Grandma's funeral. She wouldn't want us sitting around being sad. Instead, we got together and laughed (mostly at my mom...who forgot Krissie's name and called her Shawn's Wife for a good bit of the night)!

It is too bad families can't get together more often instead of just for sad things. My family is the same way. I love that you all went top a pub before her funeral. Perfect. Did your mom have a little too much too drink? Is that why she was forgetting her only daughter-in-law? ;) Your mom cracks me up!

Oh my...she was a trooper! Everyone was loving handing her some drinks. She found a bakery down the street and dove into a huge cinnamon roll and brownie. I'm surprised she shared with us! :) She is the best!!!!
